Brandied Cranberry Squares

Perfect for Thanksgiving and Christmas,  but you will find this recipe so simple & delicious you will be making it any time of year.

 

Ingredients

rolled oats
brown sugar
Magic baking Powder
butter
brandied cranberry sauce (make ahead recipe included)

 

Directions

MIX 1 1/2 cups each rolled oats, flour, brown sugar and 1 tsp. Magic Baking Powder. Blend in 3/4 cup butter until mixture is crumbly.

PRESS two thirds of oat mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch. square pan. Top with 1 cup Brandied Cranberry Sauce. Sprinkle remaining oat mixture over cranberries.

BAKE at 350°F for 30 minutes. Let cool completely; cut into squares.

 

Brandied Cranberry Sauce
PLACE 4 cups fresh or frozen cranberries in 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Sprinkle evenly with 2 cups sugar.
COVER and bake at 300°F for 1 hour. Remove from oven. Stir carefully, then stir in 1/3 cup brandy or orange juice. Pour into jars or serving dishes. Store in refrigerator up to 3 weeks.
