Although this recipe calls for a ground meat substitute, feel free to use ground turkey or lean ground beef.

1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 pound ground turkey or ground meat substitute (such as Boca crumbles or tofu)
1/2 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes, undrained
1 can (16 ounces) kidney beans, drained
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
Pinch of cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon maple syrup
1 teaspoon wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
Heat oil in a large saucepan. Add turkey, onion and garlic; cook 5 minutes stirring frequently. Add remaining ingredients; simmer uncovered 25 minutes.
